Spectacular boulangerie. We were staying nearby and popped in for some breakfast items. We ordered 2 plain croissants, 1 pain au chocolat, 1 Jesuit, 1 baguette an espresso and a chocolate chaud. €8.50!!! I thought it must be a mistake but no. It was all fabulous fresh and delicious and a bargain. Friendly service.

Lovely artisanal bakery which is open long hours (including on a Sunday!). Beautiful array of pastries and cakes and tasty bread too! Warm welcome from the lady server who also greeted me with a few words of English which was appreciated. You can pull up immediately outside on the forecourt so easy to access!

Brilliant 15 min walk from the gate of the castle a quiet wee bakery, food was amazing and the treats fantastic. Also good coffee

On Mondays most shops and cafés close in Carcassonne but thankfully not this one. There is a lot of pastries to choose from and we chose apricot croissants and pain au raisan and coffees for our breakfast. We sat in the shop window. The pastries were delicious. We also took away some sandwiches for lunch as we were travelling on the train to Toulouse for our flight back to the UK. They were tasty, too.

Stopped by on a sunday morning at 6:15 am and the smell of fresh baked bread and pastries was delicious. Ample assortment of sweet things at reasonable prices. Coffee served too

We were in Carcassonne for three days, and for three days, we visited Boulangerie l'Ancestrale. The selection is amazing, The staff is friendly and helpful (we used a little Franglish and pointing to make our orders), and the location makes for easy entry and parking at the door.…Plus d’avis

Delicious pastries and quick service. The pastries are not expensive, and you can pull up in the front of the shop, so it's really handy.

True French Boulangerie, huge selection of pastries, sweets and savoury goods. Great coffee on site as well. Very popular with locals. Highly recommend!!!

Excellent croissants, appealing pastries and desserts, popular with the locals. They have a small parking area outside and it's a constant flux of cars driving in and out. They have 4 little tables outside to eat your breakfast. It is worth the visit for a quick breakfast!
The best bread I’ve ever tasted in my whole life, the pastries are also delicious, you can have coffee and the staff is really nice! I’m going back for sure! 😊

Fabulous selection of fresh french cakes, pastries,salads and rolls.Reasonably priced and served by lovely staff. There is room inside the shop and outside to sit down and enjoy what you have bought.
